following is a selection of basic Biblical passages that reference
Worship and Intercession - as prescribed by the Lord.
The book of Leviticus is at the center of the Torah, the five books of Moses, the first five books of the Bible. Its position reflects the central purpose of God's revelation of Himself to us: WORSHIP - that we might draw near to Him and He might dwell among His people. From the beginning, the Lord has desired to dwell with mankind. After Adam sinned, he was no longer able to draw near to a holy God. So, God provided a way for mankind to be restored and to enjoy fellowship with Him again, through faith in the shed blood of a perfect sacrifice. The book of Leviticus outlines this means of grace for His people.
God calls, and we trustingly respond by drawing near with a perfect offering.

"denotes primarily the enunciation of a specific message...customarily addressed to a specific recipient and is intended to elicit a specific response (hence it may be translated 'proclaim, invite') (TWOT*)
"qarav" - (verb) "to draw near, approach, enter in, bring(cause to draw near)" - (used 291 times in the OT)
"being or coming into the most near and intimate proximity...a secondary meaning entails actual contact" (TWOT)
"qorban" - (noun) "an offering" (used 80 times in the OT - 40x in Leviticus, 38x in Numbers, 2x in Ezekiel)
"ASV usually renders 'oblation' to the RSV's 'offering'...denotes that which is brought near, i.e. an offering to the deity both in the sense of that which is to be 'sacrificed'...or to be used in the sanctuary" (TWOT)
Leviticus 1:1-2
The LORD called to Moses and spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting. He said
